Four days after having her, I just took a chance and had her evaluated for
her AKC Canine Good Citizen just to see what she would do. She
passed!
I was stunned that anywhere I took her and
brought her out of the car, she approached every woman, man and child with
an open and loving acceptance, seeking interaction and engagement.
Now, THIS dog, could be a pet therapy dog. So much so, she reminds
me of my Hattie.
As you can see, she also possess some wonderful
herding instinct. I hope to spend more time with herding in the next year
at Brigands in Battle Ground, WA with the GSDC of Oregon.
For service work, I want a dog with a bit softer
and sensible temperament in contrast to a hard and driven Schutzhund
dog. While her lines boast the best of the best with VA dogs and
bitches throughout, Mavis possess the structure and character with a bit
softer side I hope she will pass along to her progeny.
Many of her ancestry are some of my favorites
including VA Ursus vom Batu, VA Fedor von Arminius, VA Jeck vom Noricum,
VA Mark vom Haus Beck, Cello von der Romerau and VA Tell von Grossen Sand.
I adored Mark vom Haus Beck so much that I named my first born of my
first litter, Marc (Aurelius Marcus von Kearanen).
Her
first litter, Brinx, Brekka and Baewulf are simply amazing puppies as you
will see when you peruse the other pages of this site.. I have not yet
decided who I will breed her to for her second litter. Her lines blend
very nicely with Evandar and Evandar has proven himself in his ability to
produce very nice temperament in his progeny.
